Natalie Hastings, MSW
Natalie joined KP Counseling in 2019, bringing 4 years of experience as a local social worker in the child welfare system, providing case management services to children and families involved in the foster care system. Natalie has experience working with a wide array of issues including, relationship issues, complex family dynamics, grief/loss issues, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, substance abuse, various forms of abuse and neglect, child welfare system involvement, adoption issues, and other traumatic circumstances and experiences. She has worked with infants through adults with a variety of backgrounds and life experiences.
Natalie strives to provide a safe and non-judgmental place for her clients to be able to encounter meaningful and lasting solutions to emotional and relationship struggles through client-based therapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. She is passionate about using a strengths-based approach when working with her clients and she believes that collaboration between therapist and client is vital to successful growth and lasting mental/emotional health. Natalie works primarily with those 12 years and older and is uniquely passionate about working with those who are adolescent or young adult clients, those that have had involvement with the foster care system, adoptees and adoptive parents, and trauma survivors.
Natalie earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Illinois State University and holds a Master’s in Social Work with a specialization in child, adolescent, and family based social work from University of Wisconsin – Madison.
When outside of work, Natalie enjoys spending time with her wonderful family and friends, reading as many books as she can get her hands on, drinking a good cup of tea, stretching her mind and body through yoga, and planning her next travel adventure.
