Julie joined KP Counseling in 2018. She earned her BS in Human Development and Family Studies from University of Wisconsin-Stout and recently received her MSW from Aurora University with a specialization in clinical and faith-based social work.  Before joining the KP team, Julie worked with local organizations providing advocacy, education, crisis intervention, and stabilization to at-risk individuals and families in the Rockford Community.

Julie brings experience working with adults, adolescents and children. She has helped individuals, couples and families facing numerous diverse struggles such as, anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, women’s issues, and trauma. Although spirituality plays an important role in her life, Julie strives to help each individual grow according to their own beliefs.

She believes in using a strengths-based approach to treat the whole person. Her passion is to provide help and hope to individuals navigating difficult life circumstances through goal setting and self-discovery.  Traditionally, Julie utilizes a CBT approach while also incorporating other treatment modalities.

In addition to her work, Julie enjoys adventures with her husband and three children, a good book, coffee, running, and yoga.  Gratitude and learning from life’s experience are foundational to Julie in the way she approaches and lives her life.
