Jean Cooper

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor | CADC, LCPC

Jean has been working in the Mental Health field for over twenty years.  She began her career as a Substance Abuse Counselor and facilitated the family program at Rosecrance, Adolescent Services.  Jean moved into private practice and developed a keen interest and expertise in Mood Disorders, including, Anxiety, Depression,  Bipolar Disorder, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.  Although Jean comes to kp with a broad range of experience, other areas of expertise include; Chronic Illness, Women’s Issues, LGBTQ, Adolescent, Marital Therapy/Couples Counseling and Family Therapy.  Jean works primarily with ages 12 and up.

Jean earned her Bachelor of Science in Fine Arts at Bradley University and holds a Master’s of Science in Applied Family and Child Studies with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northern Illinois University.  She uses a Client-Centered Approach along with Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused and Narrative Therapy.  She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor.
