Courtney Ford

Master Level Therapist | MSW, CSAC, CWPC

Courtney joined KP Counseling in August 2017/January 2018 after serving children and families
in the area for over 17 years. Courtney spent the last four years working within the elementary
schools serving children with developmental or emotional delays. Prior to that he focused for
over five years on troubled adolescents ages 11-18 who had behavior/delinquency concerns.
Courtney also has professional experience working within the child welfare system with parents
and families struggling with issues of child abuse or neglect. In addition to the experiences
Courtney brings us from his social work background, Courtney brings a wealth of knowledge
and experience to KP on physical health and athletic training.

Courtney was a collegiate athlete himself through his college career and holds speed records at
his high school. He used this love for athletics and volunteered his time for almost 10 years
through the Boys and Girls Club coaching their Youth Tackle Football Program and produced
multiple championships. From there he was hired in to coach high school football and Varsity
track at the local public school where he has successfully assisted in building a winning program
with multiple athletes attaining state qualifying times each year. Currently Courtney is a
certified speed and agility trainer and certified weight training coach. He supervises and
developed the weight training program for all high school athletes at a local public school and
runs a speed and agility training group.

Courtney obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from The University of Wisconsin-
Oshkosh and completed his graduate work at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign
where he received his Master’s in Social Work (MSW) focusing on a clinical concentration in
mental health treatment approaches.

Courtney spends his time outside of KP Counseling with his three children and wife. All of
Courtney’s children are athletes and he is usually running from one activity to the next when he
isn’t at Kp, coaching or training. No matter where the competition is located, Courtney’s family
is always found in the stands.
