Title: Masters of Social Work (MSW)
Sam began working with the kp counseling team in 2008 in the Student Assistance Program (SAP) at the Harlem Middle School. He obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from Northern Illinois University in 2006. Following his experiences in the SAP, coupled with several life changing experiences, he decided to pursue a Masters of Social Work degree from Brigham Young University, graduating in 2011.
Sam has worked in therapeutic settings with children as well as adults, couples, and families. He has experience working with individuals with Aspergers, Autism, and other learning disabilities, and has facilitated both individual and group therapy treatment of sex offenders. Sam now enjoys working with the diverse population served at kp counseling, working primarily with the youth and adolescent populations.
Family is first and foremost in Sam’s life, but he also enjoys music, sports, and laughing. While he loved playing in a “backyard tackle football league” last fall, it does not compare to the joy he feels being tackled by one of his 4 children aged 4 to 8 years. Sam also plays drums and loves to expresses his gratitude to God through singing in church choirs as time permits.
