After a comprehensive chemical dependency/behavioral addiction assessment, care is individualized and will include input from physicians, chemical dependency counselors, licensed relational and mental health clinicians, and
recovery case managers. The RECOVERY treatment team will meet regularly to monitor each client’s progress through the six to twelve (6-12) week program. An individualized treatment plan will be formulated cooperatively. At kp counseling, we believe restoring a life means treating the whole person: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Therefore, treatment at each level of care in the RECOVERY Program will include:
- education on the nature of addiction and stable recovery inclusive of:
- healthy living (i.e., nutrition, exercise, etc.)
- support development (i.e., the 12-step tradition, aftercare, etc.)
- spiritual enhancement (i.e., whole-life development, the pursuit of meaning, etc.)
- stress management and self-esteem building
- relapse prevention training
- open therapeutic group process focused on immediate concerns encountered in addiction and recovery
- individual and relational therapy
- the proper evaluation and use of medication
- clinical guidance and monitoring one’s progress in treatment

Many people suffer from addiction to two or more substances/behaviors simultaneously - what we call dual addiction. Furthermore, depression, anxiety, shame and a feeling of inadequacy frequently result from the loss of control in managing these addictions - what we call dual diagnosis. Our clinical addiction treatment staff is trained and experienced at handling these more complex addictions.
