Delinda joined the Kp Counseling team in September 2006, working with churches and schools providing grief support services. In 2008, she developed and implemented the “Character for Success” Program in the Harlem School District as part of their Student Assistance Program (SAP). She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Communicative Disorders – Counseling with the Hearing Impaired from Northern Illinois University in 1984. In 1996, she received her Certification in Grief and Death Studies. Following her experiences in leading grief groups and her own life experiences with death and dying, Delinda decided to pursue a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois, graduating in 2012. While attending graduate school, Delinda partnered with Fitzgerald’s Funeral Home and Crematory, and assisted in developing their Soulprints Aftercare Program in 2011, with the program beginning in 2012.
Delinda’s specialization in grief counseling, includes issues, such as:

Delinda has worked in therapeutic settings with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples, through individual counseling and group counseling. Delinda provides years of experience in leadership and organizational development in various institutions, and works off-site offering grief counseling in churches, schools, and other organizations.
Delinda believes that one’s journey towards healing and understanding, involves reflecting on the physical, emotional, cognitive, social and spiritual areas of one’s life.
Delinda’s philosophy in counseling is:

She enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, exercising, and being aware of God’s presence in her life.
